Privacy Policy

Without an account

Everything stays on your device: your solves, times, splits, stats, algorithm practice and settings. We receive none of it.

Voice mode and the microphone

In a Voice solve, CubeCoach uses the microphone and Apple's speech recognition to hear “Check”, “Stop”, “Done” and “Cancel”. When your device supports it, recognition runs entirely on the device. On devices that don't, Apple may process the audio under Apple's privacy policy. CubeCoach never records, stores or sends your audio, and it only listens during a Voice solve.

Profile photo

If you pick a profile photo, it stays on your device and is never uploaded. Only an emoji and colour avatar can be synced.

With an optional account

An account backs up your data and syncs it between devices. It stores only:

• the username you choose (please don't use your real name) and your password (stored hashed)
• a scrambled (hashed) copy of your recovery code, which can't be read back
• your avatar emoji and colour
• your solves, times, splits, scrambles, algorithm progress and app settings

We don't ask for an email address. Accounts are stored with our hosting provider, Supabase, and used only to run the app. We never sell or share them, and we don't use them for advertising.

You can delete your account at any time: on the Account screen, tap “Delete account”. This permanently removes the account and all data synced to it from our servers.

Children

Many cubers are young, so CubeCoach doesn't collect information that identifies or contacts a person. It has no chat, no public profiles with free text, and no email sign-up. Parents with questions can contact us using the link below.

Support requests

We handle support through GitHub Issues. What you post there is public and covered by GitHub's privacy statement, so please don't include personal details.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
